According to the group, recent tribunals helping to ban agencies with poor standards will help to boost the sales recruitment sector and other aspects of the recruitment industry in the long term.
Lewina Farrell, the REC's head of professional services, said she "fully supports" the drive, adding that agencies which fail to maintain high standards reflect badly on the sector as a whole.
"As well as driving our own standards agenda though the Industry Code of Practice and the work of the IRP, the REC is committed to working closely with government inspectorates to address examples of bad practices," she added.
It comes after a survey of worldwide employers by Antal showed that the number of people being hired across all sectors, including sales recruitment, is on the rise globally.
