Public sector cuts 'may have a silver lining'

The public sector cuts set to be made as a result of the government's Comprehensive Spending Review may actually have a silver lining, one sector expert has claimed.

Richard Nott, website director at CWJobs.co.uk, said that there is a chance that the cuts will result in more talented and skilled workers moving to the private sector, which includes sales recruitment roles.

He explained that, in the IT sector in particular, it will help to boost the sector by promoting competition and bringing the most accomplished candidates to the fore.

"That's a good thing for private sector companies, because they are going to get people that are highly skilled, that have worked on very large IT projects a lot of the time, and so they can really utilise those people," he explained.

The expert said that people who are subject to public sector cuts can still prosper if the "attack" the private sector jobs market.

For both hardware and software sales jobs call an Aaron Wallis IT sales recruitment consultant. The Aaron Wallis IT sales recruitment service includes skills testing, personality questionnaires and 12 months rebate as standard.
