Despite some fears over a double-dip recession, overall spend in the IT sector will rise in line with previous years as companies look to establish a firm footing in the market, a City Lifeline survey shows.
The poll, conducted at this year's IP Expo, shows that 86 per cent of IT managers will continue spending next year, despite the government's recent Comprehensive Spending Review.
Roger Keenan, managing director at City Lifeline, commented: "It's really encouraging to witness a positive outlook on the subject of IT spend for 2011. Many of the IT managers we spoke to realise the value of investing to ensure their organisations remain competitive."
Recently, global analyst Gartner said that the current IT sector, which encompasses sales recruitment, will only thrive if managers and workers are moving towards the same clear goals.
