The Apprentice candidates get their figures wrong in Week 7

This week's episode of The Apprentice saw the candidates forget Rule 101 of sales - to get your figures right.

The challenges was to sell a "blue screen experience" – that is giving customers the chance to play around in front of screen showing activities such as skiing and motor racing and then selling them the DVD of their performance.

However, the losing team was undone by spending too much on marketing materials and not successfully working out how many DVDs they would need for the day – overbuying by 100 per cent.

In the boardroom, team leader Sandeesh attempted to lay the blame on Liz for failing to cost up effectively, but as Liz had not been officially designated the role, the responsibility fell on Sandeesh for not following the basics of sales jobs and she was fired by Lord Sugar.

Last week, motivational speaker and seminar leader Gavin Ingham observed that fired Apprentice candidate Alex Epstein had made a sales faux pas during his task as team leader by failing to conduct a successful brainstorming sessions and run his team well.
