A study carried out by Reabur, which measured worker happiness in all aspects of their job, found that 73 per cent of individuals have a positive opinion of the organisation they work for.
However, 93 of cent of those polled claimed that they would like to be paid more for the job they do, despite 61 per cent of this figure wrongly estimating their worth when based on job title, qualifications and years of experience.
Kirsty Burgess, co-founder of Reabur, commented: "I think we would all like a little extra money each month, but the fact that respondents believe they are worth an extra £5,000 each year shows that some are out of touch with the market rate for their role."
According London Business School professor Lynda Gratton, speaking at the launch of phase two of the Future of Work plan recently, sales recruitment organisations and other recruiters will increasingly be looking for candidates with a "deep" skill set in the months and years ahead.
