Outsourcing 'has many benefits if done correctly'

Outsourcing has been described as an opportunity for employers to gain "immediate access to more skills and better technology".

This is the message delivered by Martyn Hart, chairman of the National Outsourcing Association, who also praised the strategy as being the best chance to grow during the tough economic climate without taking too much of a risk.

"Provided it is done correctly, with careful due diligence and sufficient effort put into managing the relationship, outsourcing can boost productivity, drive efficiency, enable access to new markets and improve a small businesses' overall prospects," Mr Hart commented.

Furthermore, the business specialist pointed out that the majority of small businesses have already taken advantage of outsourcing to sort out accounts, cleaning and payroll.

However, Mr Hart underlined that any type of company "can successfully outsource absolutely anything" if they take the time to study the procedure.

John Ellis, managing director at Nexus, recently backed up these comments, by stating that outsourcing can provide firms with a cost-effective and time-efficient business function.
