Carphone Warehouse reports that the first venture into the tablet device market for the search engine giant has been a roaring success.
Launched on July 27th, the Google Nexus 7 has already sold more units than gadgets such as the Asus Transformer Prime and the Samsung Galaxy.
Graham Stapleton, chief commercial officer at Carphone Warehouse, commented: "Looking at the sales of the Google Nexus tablet, it's clear that there is a massive demand amongst our customer base for smaller tablets.
"We're seeing a real shift in what customers are using their tablets for, with more and more watching content on the go."
Other standout features of the Google Nexus 7 tablet include the fact that it offers a crisp 1280-by-800 high-resolution display, while a scratch resistant Corning glass surface ensures the device remains like new for months to come.
The gadget's battery is also designed to last the distance, presenting users with more than nine hours of HD video playback, ten hours of web browsing or e-reading and a maximum of 300 hours of stand-by time.
