Speaking to Recruiter, Samantha O'Byrne from accountancy firm Grant Thornton, said many businesses in the UK have faced tough economic conditions recently.
"To stimulate and encourage a job-generating market, the government needs to ensure it introduces and implements policies that make it easier for businesses, particularly SMEs, to take on new people," she said.
She called for the coalition to consider extending the National Insurance holiday for businesses to make it more "wide reaching", encompassing firms in the south-east and London as well.
Ms O'Byrne added that she would like to see the contributions holiday also apply to companies which take on staff who were previously unemployed, as this will help get more people in employment.
Jes Ladva, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's London regional director, recently said there will be more jobs created in the UK over the next 12 months, particularly in the capital.
