The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) pointed to the recent Report on Jobs, published by the REC and KPMG, as evidence that the sector the sector "leads the rises" in hiring activity, and is now and calling for action to boost sustainable, long-term growth.
Simon Noakes, chair of REC Construction said it is "very encouraging" to see data confirming what is being experienced on the ground - namely that the construction industry is regaining its confidence as new orders come in.
"However, we need … to ensure that that the right processes are in place to promote the entrepreneurial spirit, for example, through a flexible workforce," he added.
The REC and KPMG Report on Jobs indicated that permanent roles across the private sector increased at their fastest rate in ten months in February, with the construction industry experiencing a rapid increase in both permanent and temporary hiring.
