Data compiled by BTA suggests that the IT sector saw a 19 per cent rise in sales vacancies, with financial sales jobs experiencing a 6.2 per cent increase since January 2010 and the manufacturing industry showing a 1.7 per cent rise.
Commenting on the figures, director Ian Harwood said there has been a notable increase in the volume of sales vacancies in business services.
"The research doesn't really surprise me. Trends have seen an increase of 34 per cent and this figure is expected to rise again, with the possibility of growth by an even greater margin in 12 months time," he added.
A recent survey carried out by Aaron Wallis Sales Recruitment suggested that 96 per cent of people working in sales enjoy it, while a whopping 72 per cent judged their career to date to be seven out of ten or more on the satisfaction scale.
