Speaking at the Graduate Recruitment Roundtable in London last week, supported by Michael Page and Recruiter, head of diversity practice at BT Dennis Gissing said "all options" need to be considered when hiring employees, which may include those in the sales recruitment sector.
According to the expert, while universities can be an important source of talent, there are many more avenues which can be explored, such as apprenticeships.
She explained: "Many apprentices become the managers of the future. So it is very important that organisations look at all resourcing options."
It comes after group recruitment manager Lee Evans recently told the Recruiter that companies hiring sales staff, whether in the retail sector or elsewhere, have to ensure that the correct people are being hired so that costly employment tribunals and other problems can be avoided.
