Chris Grayling, the UK's minister for employment, commented that certain positive signs are being witnessed in relation to job vacancies.
He stated: "We inherited ... high levels of worklessness, which we are determined to bring down by ... supporting private sector jobs growth.
"We are already seeing some improvement in the number of vacancies in the economy."
Certain steps have recently been taken by ministers in recent times to try and support the UK's economy, the government has also pointed out.
These are said to include attempts to simplify health and safety legislation and improve apprenticeships investment.
The Office for National Statistics recently revealed that the quarter leading up to November of last year saw a 70.4 per cent employment rate among people who were aged between 16 and 64.
