According to Andrew Pullman, managing director of People Risk Solutions, the market is obviously challenging because of ongoing economic problems, so the best advice for young people is to be prepared to be flexible.
"Don't be too fixed on what you want to do and if you are starting out in work, the most important thing is that you get a job in roughly the area that you are interested in. Be flexible and look at all sorts of different options and try different things," he recommended.
Mr Pullman said that people should not simply apply for two jobs and wait to see what happens, and instead try and look at the various different opportunities.
"A lot of young people tend to think that you only have to apply a couple of times and then they wait for that to come back whereas what they should be doing is trying to get lots of different opportunities and try to be flexible as well," he noted.
