This is the opinion of Waqas Hashemi, programme director of the Big Data Analytics 2012 event, who pointed out that the working environment is much more competitive today.
As such, the business expert advised that an employer must root out their company's weaknesses and identify its strengths in order to build up worthy competition and growth in their chosen sector.
Mr Hashemi stated that a big data strategy can help to achieve these goals, adding: "Once you have got that in place, you can evolve more and grow more as an organisation."
He was speaking ahead of the Big Data Analytics 2012 event, which is taking place at London's Victoria Park Plaza on December 6th.
During the conference, a number of business executives and those in senior positions at large corporations will discuss the benefits that a big data strategy can give them.
Mr Hashemi acknowledged that the event is particularly helpful as mobile data and social media analytics are beginning to change the face of traditional big data.
