Senior executives 'being highly sought' in 2010

There is a growing demand for senior executives who can add experience to a company, according to a new report.

The latest survey findings by Ipsos MORI for the Interim Management Association (IMA) show that the use of interim managers has increased by nine per cent over the first two quarters of 2010.

According to the data, the proportion of private sector interim assignments has increased to 52 per cent, which highlights how experience is vital to firms escaping the recession, according to Paul Botting, chair of the IMA and managing director of Odgers Interim Commercial.

"Our latest results demonstrate clearly how senior, experienced executives are being sought to lead and change organisations in business-critical operations," he explained.

Earlier this month, Claudio Da Rold, vice president at research analyst Gartner, said that firms are beginning to increase expenditure as they shrug off the effects of the economic downturn and managers become more confident.
