Commenting on the upward trend and on the immediate priorities for the Scottish jobs market, Lisa Boutineau, regional director for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation in Scotland, said that work still needs to be done to boost the labour market in the country.
However, she pointed to the recent rise in sales recruitment and other sectors as evidence that Scotland is turning a corner.
She explained: "As an industry, we are working with employers and education providers to help build better bridges into the world of work and to spearhead a radical shake-up in the support and guidance offered to the increasing number of jobseekers."
It comes after a survey carried out by Workmonitor and seen by the Recruiter indicates that 75 per cent of employees currently feel that they could comfortably land sales jobs if they applied.
