Recruiters 'should take advantage of NIC holidays'

Companies in the recruitment sector have been advised to utilise the 'holiday' in paying staff National Insurance Contributions (NICs), outline in the coalition government's June Budget.

Liz Longman, UK director of independent recruiters' network the Employment Agencies Movement, pointed out to the Recruiter that British firms established outside of London, the south-east and east of England can benefit from a £5,000 'holiday' for the first ten employees they hire in their first year.

She explained: "Client businesses setting up will offer more business to the sector. This is a great opportunity for agencies to offer their services to a growing business attracting the right talent."

Ms Longman also told the source that it will present "new opportunities" for recruiters as well as entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Adrian Tripp, chief executive of the European Business Awards, and Rosa Wilkinson, managing director of UKTI, recently said that confidence is returning across the business community in the UK and the whole of Europe.
