Jobseekers 'have great opportunities'

There are currently many excellent opportunities on the market for jobseekers, one sector expert has stated, noting that the recession has not had the impact that some people feared.

Jane Artess, director of research for the Higher Education Careers Services Unit, said that people willing to put in the time to search for a job opportunity will find that there are plenty of options open to them.

According to the specialist, graduates in particular often get disheartened when they feel that there are no opportunities available, but she offered reassurance to this demographic.

"The thing to do is enthuse people about careers and help them to understand that there are some really good opportunities out there despite the recession," Ms Artess added.

It comes after Maggie Berry, managing director of womenintechnology.co.uk, said that there are plenty of diverse and interesting opportunities in the IT sector for jobseekers willing to search for them.
