REC issues recruitment tips

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation has outlined a number of tips about recruitment growth over the next year.

During last month, the REC took three experts to England's biggest cities who shared their expertise with packed audiences.

Advice that was handed out included focusing on one specific area and being an "inch wide and a mile deep" and choosing companies that are active. Small and medium-sized enterprises are believed to be creating 65 per cent of all new jobs in the UK over the next ten years.

People were also told never to write a sales email that is more than four lines long and response rates can improve if the correspondence asks for a 15-minute meeting on a specific date.

Other suggestions included trusting the people who have been hired to do a good job and give them space to grow.

A recent report from the REC revealed that 54 per cent of firms in the UK plan on recruiting over the next three months.
