Candidates given advice to be CV scanners

A recent article published in the Wall Street Journal has revealed that companies are increasingly using technological algorithms to screen candidate CVs, with many vacancies attracting huge numbers of applicants.

Although this may be practical for the firm, many jobseekers are unaware how to optimise their CV to get past the initial stage and actually get a human to read about their skills and suitability for the job.

The Daily Telegraph has now listed a few tips on what candidates can do to improve their chances.

It is vital to scan the job requirements and make sure that all the key words in it appear in the CV.

For instance, if a candidate calls themselves a sales director when a company is after a head of business development then the jobseeker should use that title.
