According to analyst Michael Page, confidence is "creeping back" into the jobs market.
Steve Ingham, chief executive of the firm, said the strong performance is down to an increase in permanent job vacancies, as well as "rapid growth" in emerging markets such as China and South America.
He explained that the nature of the industry means that visibility is short and the general level of business confidence and economic activity may be threatened by fiscal consolidation in the UK and Europe.
However, the expert stated: "In the UK, market conditions stabilised in the latter part of 2009 and there was growing evidence of a gradual recovery in the first half of 2010."
Last week, Adrian Tripp, chief executive of the European Business Awards, and Rosa Wilkinson, managing director of UKTI, said that there is not only a return to confidence across the business community in the UK, but across the whole of Europe.
