In an article published on OnRec.com, Alex Pratt, entrepreneur and author of Austerity Business: 39 Tips for Doing More with Less, said that traditional attitudes to sales recruitment need to change to ensure that businesses are operating efficiently.
He noted that many managers often think that "one size fits all", but this is never usually the case and is an important aspect which needs to be addressed but rarely is.
"Getting the most out of people is about inherent fairness, mutual respect and flexibility on both sides but we need to be aware that actions speak louder than words," Mr Pratt explained.
Recently, Tina Lamb, senior partner at development organisation the Impact Factory, said that there is currently a culture of people becoming "accidental managers" without having the necessary skills to organise and lead their team, and this needs to be addressed.
