How smartphones are changing the working environment

The popularity of smartphones appears to be having a knock-on effect with how long people are spending doing work each day.

Research carried out by technology retailer Pixmania suggests that the average working day in the UK is between nine and ten hours.

However, a further two hours is then spent on a regular day by people responding or sending work-related emails or making work calls.

Pixmania also found that more than 90 per cent of office workers across the UK now have access to an email-enabled mobile phone, with a third of these accessing this app more than 20 times a day.

Ghadi Hobeika, marketing director of Pixmania, believes there are plenty of advantages to smartphones being more readily available today.

"The ability to access literally millions of apps, keep in contact via social networks and take photos and video as well as text and call has made smartphones invaluable for many people," Mr Hobeika explained.

Based in Milton Keynes, Aaron Wallis are a sales recruitment and sales training business committed to sales excellence.
